David Bannister

David is a native of Montour Falls, New York. He graduated In 1982 from Odessa Montour Central School, and served for six years in the ARMY Reserves. After working in the pathology department at Schuyler Hospital and at Syracuse eye bank, David knew he wanted to be a funeral director. He attended Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, New York. David’s greatest satisfaction in funeral service comes from specializing in the embalming process. He takes pride in preparing loved ones for a memorable viewing for the families to say goodbye. He has great relationships with families he has served, making lasting friendships.  

David’s mentor growing up was his father, Richard Bannister. Richard worked in his community as Chief of Police and has been a volunteer fireman for over 50 years. David always knew he always wanted to be like his father helping others in the community.

He is the proud parent of six children. In his leisure time, David enjoys spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, fishing, and volunteering in his community. David has been a proud member of the United Methodist Church of Montour Falls, New York his whole life. If you ever drive by the church, you will likely see David smiling and talking to someone of the community.
